We Empower Moms

NVIC is for Mothers

Barbara Loe Fisher, the co-founder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), epitomizes the resilience of a mother who never wavered in her advocacy for the well-being of her own child and all children. Since the organization's establishment in 1982, she has tirelessly worked alongside parents of vaccine-injured children to prevent vaccine injuries and deaths through public education and to defend the ethical principle of informed consent to medical risk taking.

Empowering Mothers: Navigating Vaccination Choices

Adult Daughter and Mother

I am immensely grateful for the work put into your in-depth article(s). There is a huge comfort in at least knowing we have you in an army of truth-tellers; that we are not alone is, in itself, healing to the heart.

Rebekah P

Thank you for all you do to bring awareness of truth and real science re: Vaccines. Myself and my children (natural and adopted) are vaccine injured. We appreciate you and other individuals and organizations fighting for Informed consent and bodily autonomy over forced medical intervention.

Melissa N

Thank you for standing up to defend our right to choose what is injected into our and our children's bodies. The risk or injury or reaction can vary for each individual and the final risk isn't know until after the vaccine is administered. It should be our right to decide what we want to risk.

Cathy H

Barbara, I love the way you reference each of the salient points you make, and am consistently impressed with the quality of those references. Thank you for being a voice of cogency, illumination, intelligence and common sense.

A Mother's Journey

A Mother's Story

Click the play button to watch Dr. Stephanie Christner, presentation from NVIC's 5th International Public Conference on Vaccination in 202o. Dr. Christner's journey into vaccine safety began tragically after her daughter Victoria's sudden passing due to vaccine reaction symptoms. Since 2009, she's been a pivotal board member at the National Vaccine Information Center, delving into research on adverse responses and genetic susceptibility factors.

NVIC: Empowering Moms – Barbara's Journey and Your Support

For more than four decades, Barbara has spearheaded a nationwide grassroots movement and public information campaign to secure crucial vaccine safety and informed consent protections in U.S. public health policies and laws. Her knowledge and unwavering commitment have made her one of the world's foremost non-medical consumer advocacy experts on vaccine science, policy, law, the informed consent ethic and natural rights. She has articulated the concerns of the vaccine injured in countless public forums, from mainstream media TV, radio and print news reports to congressional and state legislative testimony, to coordinating scientific conferences and serving as a consumer member for several decades on government vaccine advisory committees and public engagement projects.

Barbara has empowered mothers with the facts about vaccines and diseases and encouraged them to ask pediatricians questions and stand up for their informed consent rights. Navigating the complex landscape of promoting vaccine safety and choice, her journey has been fueled by her personal experience as a mother to a vaccine-injured child and her profound commitment to protecting autonomy and freedom of thought, speech and conscience.

A Tribute to Barbara Loe Fisher - share the video

In the quiet suburbs of Washington, D.C., a mother's journey began with love for her child and trust in the medical system. Barbara Loe Fisher's world shifted unexpectedly in 1980 when her bright, healthy two and a half-year-old son suffered a serious reaction to his fourth DPT shot. It was a moment etched in her soul, a mother grappling with the unforeseen consequences of allowing a doctor to give her child a vaccine she knew nothing about.

Instead of succumbing to despair, Barbara decided to help other mothers become educated about vaccination. In 1982, she joined with NVIC co-founder Kathi Williams and other parents of DPT vaccine-injured children and went on to co-author the groundbreaking 1985 book DPT: A Shot in the Dark on pertussis, DPT shot risks and failures, and the oppressive mandatory vaccination system. Since then, her unwavering dedication to defining and fearlessly defending the legal right to exercise voluntary, informed consent to vaccination within the context of civil liberties and natural rights has been unparalleled.

Yet, in recent years, she has witnessed a troubling shift in public discourse, especially threats to freedom of speech during the COVID-19 pandemic that included suppression of public access to NVIC’s life-saving information.Despite facing unprecedented discrimination, censorship and persecution in the public square, Barbara's resolve remains steadfast..

Today, on behalf of mothers everywhere, we honor her courage, compassion and determination to defending the legal and moral right for mothers – and all parents - to make informed and voluntary vaccine decisions for their minor children.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers who love and advocate for the well-being of children.
